Leslie Ching Ow Tiong obtained his BSc. Computer Science from Sunway University in 2012, followed by a MSc. Computer Science (by Research) from Lancaster University in 2014 and a Ph.D. in Information & Telecommunication Technology (Engineering) from Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) in 2019.
After completing Ph.D., Leslie worked as a postdoctoral researcher at KIST in Republic of Korea. During the time in KIST, he specialized in integrating computer vision and machine learning techniques with materials science. His work primarily revolved around harnessing these cutting-edge technologies to unravel complex patterns and properties in materials. Currently, Leslie serves as staff engineer at Samsung Electronics in Republic of Korea, where he continues to utilise his expertise in computer vision and deep learning within industry.
His research interests lie in several areas, including deep learning, biometrics application, face recognition, periocular recognition, cross-modality recognition and multi-view 3D reconstruction.
